Nepal House Societies first ever AGM was held on July 20th, 2008 at the South Arm Community Center in Richmond, BC. It was a well attended event that allowed friends and supporters of Nepal House to reconnect and share in their enthusiasm for the project. Many ideas were shared about possible future directions to not only support traumatized children, but other disenfranchised and marginalized groups in the country. Ideas were also discussed about future fund raising and partnerships.

Reports were presented by the chairperson, the treasurer and the membership director. We have over 40 paid members and a dedicated board of six members. We have one paid part time staff that lives in Nepal and oversees the dispersal of funds and other matters related to the interests of NHS. We have been able to maintain our financial commitments to our partner Nepal House Kaski who have the task of directly looking after the emotional and psychological needs of children who attend their counselling center.

The meeting wrapped with some good food, a group photo and a commitment to continue to support the enhancing of young lives in Nepal.
